Duplicate Content

Duplicate Content

If you write any content or a piece of content which has been already written or published on any other website or online platform, that content or piece of content is termed as a Duplicate Content. You can’t use duplicate contents in your website, otherwise, Search Engine crawlers will consider them as negative issues and your website can’t get good ranking positions in the Search Engine Result Pages. Search Engines like Google do not want to show such websites which contain the same information in the same tone. If a site indexes its content first, that content is considered as original content. Plagiarism, automated content scrapers, or lazy web design create Duplicate Contents. When Google finds multiple versions of the same web page, it may not understand which version of the website should be shown in Search Engine Result Pages. The problem becomes more serious if these pages are competing against each other. This situation can create the issue of keyword cannibalization too. You can face these types of issues if you add new versions of pages without deleting or forwarding the old versions. Sometimes, poor URL structures also create these issues.
