Google Penguin

Google Penguin

Google Penguin is an update of Google’s Algorithm quality of the links used in a website and it also evaluates the overall quality of a site’s backlink profile. This update was first released on April 2012 and it had been updated periodically after that. Google Penguin tracks “black-hat SEO” tactics so that ranking positions in Search Engine Result pages can’t be manipulated by creating links to sites in an unnatural manner. This update finds whether the links used in a website are from an authoritative site or not and also finds whether these links are beneficial to the users or not. If the update finds that these links are used to manipulate the search engine rankings, it adjusts the rankings accordingly. According to Google, Penguin monitors 3.1% of all searches made in English.
