Udaipur Based Startup VidSaga Bridges Companies With Global Video Creators- IIT Kharagpur Grad Plays The Mastermind!

  • 30 Nov, 2019

In the current scenario, filmmakers are seeking access to work opportunities to make the most of their talent and fund their creative projects, and on another hand, organizations are constantly reaching out for quality creators to whip up videos for them. These are the two dots that Nikhilesh Tayal, the founder of VidSaga, has been brainstorming to connect since a long time. The IIT Kharagpur graduate diligently covered the extra miles to amalgamate the goodness of technology, entrepreneurship, and video creation to churn out a platform that establishes the desired link.

Finally, Nikhilesh’s entrepreneurial journey took baby steps holding hand of a blog featuring the-then eminent filmmakers, and then leveled up as a marketplace, Stagephod.com, in 2015.

Before stepping into the fourth year, this marketplace underwent a techno-strategic makeover and with more specific approach, VidSaga was born to address all challenges revolving around video creation.

Accessing Video Creators Is Now As Easy As ABC!

Nikhilesh summed up the objective of VidSaga saying their team aims to create a platform helping organizations with factors like price transparency, online tools, and domain expert help in order to simplify the entire process and keep it hassle-free. A closer look into the startup reveals the process, that starts with an organization figuring out the estimated price of their video requirement making use of the easy ‘Video Price Calculator’ that VidSaga website has in store, followed by their in-house domain experts helping the company seal the deal analyzing the project scope and its business requirement. Once it’s projected online, multiple video creators present their bid on it. Within its journey till date, VidSaga, a team of six including the founder, has already posted over 1,200 global video projects, and has completed over 115 bids. The startup has gathered a star studded clientele including Cisco, Hindustan Times, Shell, VIP Bags, MySmartPrice and more joined hands with around 250 video creators all across the world.

Highs & Lows in the VidSaga Journey

Nikhilesh explained his hometown Udaipur to be operationally cost effective as he could also work remotely, indicating the base as a clear high for his startup. However, this has not been enough to keep the other challenges at bay. Thus, VidSaga had to cut the cocoon to embrace growth. Nikhilesh points at the need to bring regular video requirements on the website as the major one they faced, which screamed the need of a quick as well as cost effective remedy.

At the initial stage, VidSaga curated multiple listings on its platform sharing information about different video creators which helped the video creator’s and companies’ interest swarm towards it, and eventually the startup successfully bagged the first set of clients and collaborated with the content creators.

What’s Next From The House Of VidSaga?

The subscription plans for lead buying, commission for closed projects from its clients, premium subscription providing access to online tools, Website ads by film festivals, casting agencies, location, stock footage websites, equipment providers etc. contribute to a monthly earning of Rs. 2 Lakh, states the founder.

Though VidSaga is presently focusing on providing the content creators and the clients an even more seamless online experience, in the near futureit looks forward to unfurl its wings further, welcoming requirements from the overseas countries, and spread the video creator network deeper into the Asian countries. Addition of educational contents besides video is also a part of the plan.
